Cut Your Hair Off !

IMG_0381

On March 11, 2017 I decided to cut my hair off AGAIN! I was so excited to be starting a new chapter in my life and I decided that my hair needed to match the new chapter. I am Blessed and Stress free and my hair starts my new chapter.

Before I made the decision to do it I assessed my hair. I noticed that my hair was color and heat damaged and that some of my texture in the front where I mostly flat ironed my hair wasn’t curling up as much. I would constantly do my hair in protective styles to hide the damage but enough was enough. I love my hair now more than ever! I suggest everyone to #CutYourHairOff !

Don’t Be Clickbait!

It helps to be at the top of the list when someone searches on google. But how do you get there?

You can use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to help you gain that number one spot when someone is searching for something. It gives you the criteria that most search engines look for when trying to find a page for someone.

I plan to use SEO to build my website by adding page titles that people can find easily. I will also add links to my website that include words that most natural people type in when looking for products or help with certain styles. I don’t think SEO can be problematic. It can help you build your views on your site.

Does your website name describe you?

Everyone wants to own their own domain name but what does it take?

You have to purchase your website/domain name from the person who owns it. The website name that I want all of my information to be under is NaturallyNicole.com but someone owns it already. She uses it to sell her natural products and to give out different recipes on how to make them at home. I don’t think i will personally buy a domain name right now but if I decide to further launch my website then I may think about buying a domain name. For now I will stick to the free website generator that we use in class.

Have you been hacked before?

Here are a few simple tips I learned from wired.com that can help against being hacked.

  1. Don’t Reuse Passwords: People that can hack one of you accounts can usually hack more because people reuse their passwords a lot. To keep yourself and your information safe, try to use a different password every time when making new accounts.
  2. Set up Two-Factor Authentication: When someone logs into the account from a new computer they have to also use a code. Usually the person has to put in the last four digits of the phone number linked to the account and they get an access code that is texted to them.
  3. Use a Password Manager: A password manager helps you store your passwords and also create new ones. All you have to do is remember the master password and then you are good go to.

Please be safe when making new accounts and opening emails that you don’t recognize.

Have You Heard Of Holifest?

On Sunday March 26, 2017, the campus of the University of South Alabama had its on Holi Festival to celebrate a traditional Hindu holiday.

Holi Fest was created to celebrate the beginning of Spring, the end of Winter, and peace. To practice forgiveness, love, and happiness. It signifies the win of Good over evil.

The practice is most popular in places that have Hinduism as their main religion like India and Nepal. But the celebration has spread all around the world and is shared throughout different religions.

Every year, the night before the Holika Bonfire, communities come together and spray each other with different bright colors (we used chalk) to celebrate happiness. Next year it will be March 2nd so you can google places in your area that are having the festival so you can join in!
